I thought I’d show off Lucy’s room. It’s probably one of the only rooms in the house that I’d consider “finished” – although no room ever really is, and especially not a a child’s room that will grow and adapt with the child. I love this room, the colors, the vibe, and the functionality. I spend a good chunk of my day in here so I’m glad it works for me (hopefully Lucy likes it too!) Now if I could just convincer her to sleep in her crib…
Her crib is nestled under roofline. We wanted the full height space for the changing area so both of us could stand comfortably. The chair is on loan from a friend; I’ve softened it up with a sheepskin from Ikea, a pillow, and the quilt from her crib bedding set.
I love those Ugly Dolls – so fun.
Next to the dresser is our diaper bin (just a simple human kitchen can with a liner) Since we cloth diaper the top two drawers are entirely filled with diapers (I’m a little obsessed with cloth diapers, what can I say?). The bottom four are all her clothes sorted by category. Her wool diaper covers hang from the wall hooks so they can air dry. I think I’ll have to devote a whole post to diapering at some point…
Somehow, orange became the main accent color in this room. It was very difficult to find modern, feminine, nursery accents that weren’t pink heavy. I think the grey-blue walls are the perfect complement to the bold orange (no really, orange and blue are complementary colors), and the hits of yellow in the textiles balance everything out. It’s fun and youthful, but not too cheesy. Hope you like it!
